Senior IT Admin - FST

The location in Skookumchuck, British Columbia, Canada, is seeking talent to fill the position of Senior IT Admin - FST. This job is full-time permanent.

 

The IT Senior Field Service Technician is responsible for providing tier 1 and 2 support for Domtar’s corporate network including manufacturing, converting and distribution facilities. This role will be interacting with all levels of Corporate IT, business and/or mill management.  This role will also serve as the lead PCN-OT resource if located at a mill and is responsible for partnering with the PCN-OT Team across multiple locations as required.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

•    Follow all Domtar safety rules and regulations.
•    Utilize the internal IT Ticketing System to resolve incidents, service requests and change requests in a timely manner.
•    Promote IT Cyber Security best practices on both the business and Process Control Networks via your actions and your communications.
•    Ensure hardware assets are updated in the Asset Management System following the standard Domtar procedures.
•    Participate in On-Call rotation to provide 24/7 support for assigned location.
•    Coordinate infrastructure work with vendors.
•    Perform support activities including backups, patch installs, incident resolution, account maintenance, etc. for both the business and PCN environments.
•    Provide support for the IT-related components of the Process Control environment if position is located at a manufacturing facility.
•    Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve a wide range of technical related problems including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, IP Addressing, etc. on both the business and PCN environments. 
•    Create documentation for internal procedures and best practices for IT-related items in both the business and PCN environments.
•    Act as a mentor to local Field Service Team in use of IT technology, standards, and processes in both business and PCN environments.   
•    Technical Lead and subject matter expert of local PCN-OT environment.
•    Partner and align with corporate PCN-OT Team for all related activities.
•    Available to provide assistance and guidance to other manufacturing locations as requested.
•    Handle complex projects and initiatives.
•    Work autonomously with little to no direct supervision.

 

Required Education/Professional Experiences:

•    Associate degree in IT or related field of study
•    10+ years’ experience in Information Technology or related field.
•    10+ years’ experience in implementation and support of data connectivity for local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) – must be comfortable using Command Line interfaces.
•    10+ experience providing support for Windows servers, desktops, directory services and hypervisors. 
•    5+ years’ experience leading and managing technology projects. 
•    5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
•    5+ years’ experience of partnering with manufacturing teams and PCN-OT Team in managing and maintaining PLCs, Controllers and DCS/QCS systems.
•    5+ years’ of demonstrated advanced knowledge of company’s PCN-OT methodologies, processes, and standards.

 

Preferred Education/Professional Experiences:

•    Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field of study
•    Cisco certifications
•    Microsoft certifications
