Instrumentation Planner

The location in Skookumchuck, British Columbia, Canada, is seeking talent to fill the position of Instrumentation Planner. This job is full-time permanent.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensures all instrumentation maintenance work orders and jobs are well planned, all site and regulatory safety policies and procedures followed, trades identified, or services (scaffolding, non-destructive testing, motor removal, motor handover, etc), materials/tools prepared, and duration of tasks accurately and realistically defined and included on the work order.
  • Inspects problem areas requiring repair work to determine what’s wrong, location, access issues, criticality, and whether the expertise to complete repairs exists internally or if outside assistance is required.
  • Ensures all required documentation is complete and up to date in the SAP system and any manual systems, ensures all files are updated as needed, and distributes documentation as required.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve work through maintenance  effectiveness / systems, equipment upgrades, and application of new technology.
  • Ensures that the work order contains a proper description or that a prepared file is linked to the work order
  • Informs operations superintendent of the operations specific requirements for carrying out a job (cleaning, positioning of equipment, etc)
Skills and Qualifications
  • Trade ticket or post-secondary degree/diploma in the instrumentation field or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in estimating and planning work projects
  • Demonstrated ability to write and provide simple, accurate instructions
  • Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, machine & process drawings and have the ability to sketch or redline existing drawings
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Good organization, planning, math, computer, and communication skills
