The location in Sanford, (Florida, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Mechanical Level I. This job is full-time permanent.

 

Maintenance Mechanic for both Tissue and Converting

Reports to:  The Maintenance Manager

Resolute Tissue, a leading manufacturer of tissue products, producing both virgin and recycled grades is seeking a qualified and experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our Maintenance team! This position is ideal for an individual with the ability to bring technical and leadership skills to the role making you a highly valuable member of the team.

The company operates a state-of-the-art paper mill in Sanford, Florida where it manufactures tissue parent rolls for resale as well as converts into finished products; namely bath tissue and paper towels, servicing customers in the away-from-home and value retail channels. A short distance from beautiful Orlando, Florida, touted as a “vacation destination” through-out the world, Florida offers no state income tax, great climate, and friendly atmosphere.

 

 

Position Details

· Primary: Replace valves, gaskets, basic welding, repack pumps and valves, forklift operation, screwed piping and tubing installation, pump repair & replacement, repair of rotating assemblies, roll repair & replacement, motor replacement, and repair of mechanical drive systems.

· Secondary: Ensure compliance to established safety rules/policies, and mechanical specifications. Actively lead and participate in safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement efforts.

 

Education & Experience Requirements

· Must have industry experience; Paper Mill experience preferred

· High School Diploma or GED

· Two-year Associate Degree in a related field or a registered apprenticeship or similar training

· Strong technical skills with at least 3-5 years in-plant Heavy Industrial Maintenance

· Previous multi-skilled maintenance experience

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

· Mechanical background is required with adequate craft knowledge

· Strong interpersonal skills with leadership and strategic thinking skills

· Ability to develop long and short term strategic improvement plans

· Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, machine, and process drawings

· Can manage multiple priorities simultaneously and keep them progressing to completion

 

Duties and Responsibilities

· Approach all aspects of the work with ‘safety as a value.’

· Wear required safety equipment

· Follow all safety procedures including: lockout/tagout, confined spaces, etc.

· Safely perform preventative maintenance and repairs on paper machines, buildings, stock prep, steam supply/boiler equipment, and other equipment as necessary

· Available to work overtime with last minute notification

· Available to work holidays and/or weekends

 

· This position requires flexible hours including occasional late-night call-ins.

· Operate or work in industrial conditions (i.e. warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around chemicals, noise, heavy machinery, elevated working surfaces with proper training & safety protection)

· Other responsibilities as necessary
