The location in Sanford, (Florida, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Assistant Maintenance Manager. This job is full-time permanent.

 

This position is ideal for a progressive thinking individual with the ability to bring technical and professional knowledge to the company and move into a Maintenance Manager position.

 

Position Details

  • Primary: Provides managerial responsibility, technical direction, administrative management, and leadership in the maintenance department workforce. In addition, they ensure compliance to established safety rules/policies, customer quality, and production specifications. Actively leads and participates in safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Secondary: Is a ‘hands-on’ working resource developing our maintenance resources and Storeroom and other duties as required to provide a safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation.

 

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Must have industry experience, Paper Mill experience preferred.
  • Strong technical skills with at least 5 – 10 years in-plant management/supervisory experience
  • College Degree preferred in Engineering or related field and/or journeyman certification.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Mechanical/electrical background required having adequate craft knowledge.
  • Automation PLC knowledge and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; outstanding leadership and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to develop long and short-term strategic improvement plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, machine, and process drawings.
  • Can manage multiple priorities simultaneously and keep them progressing to completion.
  • Essential written and verbal communication skills
  • The Ability to effectively manage time, lead teams, and deal with open conflict.
  • Excellent computer skills and a functional ability with computerized information systems (Word, Excel, I-Maint, SAP, etc.)
  • Project Management experience a plus

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Approaches all aspects of the work with ‘safety as a value.’
  • Provide strategic leadership in the areas of equipment, safety, people, and cost effectiveness.
  • Manage and direct supervisory personnel – responsible for maintaining all areas of the mill.
  • Lead departmental personnel to take responsibility and accountability for safety and performance of projects and physical assets.
  • Ensure the principles of Reliability and Best Maintenance Practices are advanced daily.
  • Leads Scheduled Maintenance Down Planning Meetings.
  • Verifies materials, information, tools are available and staged prior to Maintenance Downs.
  • Maintains and communicates key performance indicators (KPIs) on the performance of the planning and scheduling functions providing timely reports.
  • Identifies specific safety hazards encountered and includes mitigation measures in the execution of the proposed work.
  • Understand abilities of diverse maintenance group and manage for best results.
  • Reviews the best way to accomplish work with establishing staffing and estimated time to complete.
  • Maintains and utilizes work order system to develop and publish weekly work lists and schedule (i.e., Preventative Work, Scheduled Down Work, Current WO) for Area Manager Review and prioritization.
  • Leading maintenance shutdowns and daily work planning using work orders and job plan packets.
  • Requires flexible hours including late night call-ins.
  • Other duties assigned.
