The location in Rothschild, (Wisconsin, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Pulp Mill Production Supervisor. This job is full-time permanent.

Position Summary

Domtar is seeking a Pulp Mill Production Supervisor to join the operations leadership team at our Rothschild, Wisconsin mill. This position serves as a resource and team leader within the Pulp Mill production unit in a participative, team-based work environment.

The Pulp Mill Production Supervisor provides daily leadership and coordination of pulp mill operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production. The role is responsible for managing both the process and people within the pulp mill while supporting mill objectives related to safety, environmental compliance, product quality, reliability, and cost performance.

This position works closely with maintenance, engineering, reliability, and other production departments to ensure effective operation of the fiberline and supporting systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily leadership and supervision of hourly employees within pulp mill operations.
• Coordinate daily production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable pulp production.
• Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational policies.
• Manage performance related to safety, quality, environmental compliance, process reliability, cost, and employee engagement.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency and reliability.
• Coordinate closely with maintenance and reliability teams to plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Monitor key process indicators and lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve operational issues.
• Work across departments to achieve overall mill production and business objectives.
• Provide coaching, training, and development to employees in both technical and leadership areas.
• Support staffing, scheduling, and production planning activities within the department.

Pulp Mill Operational Areas

This role will support operations across the pulp mill and may include responsibility for areas such as:

• Wood handling and chip processing
• Digesters and fiberline operations
• Brownstock washing and screening
• Oxygen delignification and bleaching systems
• Chemical recovery operations including recausticizing and lime kiln
• Chemical preparation and storage systems
• Pulp drying and stock preparation
• Utilities and supporting systems related to pulp mill operations

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, OR
• Bachelor’s degree in Pulp & Paper Science, Engineering, Business, Environmental Science, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in pulp mill or fiberline operations
• Knowledge of wood conversion, sulfite pulping, or chemical pulping processes
• Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and mill operating systems (CIMS preferred)
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and mechanical aptitude skills
• Demonstrated experience promoting and maintaining a safe working environment
• Experience working in a union manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to work flexible hours including rotating weekend coverage as required
