The location in Port Alberni, BC is seeking talent to fill the position of a Technical Specialist (PM4). This job is full-time and permanent.

Implement the Company's business direction for the paper machine by ensuring safe manufacturing of paper products which meet the present and future requirements of Domtar customers.  

Responsible for coordinating, supporting, and participating in the resolution of other technical issues which cross all departments and business units.

Specific Accountabilities and Key Activities:

The Technical Specialist is responsible for:

1. Assist in the implementation and maintenance plans for the paper machines that will permit achievement of the production plan;

2. Ensure product quality complies with mill and customer specifications

3. Actively supports and contributes to the mill safety program and ensures that personnel and equipment associated with the paper machines perform their roles in a safe manner;

4. Ensures the identification, development, and implementation of the capital plans required to ensure that Port Alberni is able to meet strategic goals;

5. Provide customer service as required such as the individual is responsible for reviewing, investigating, and responding to customer complaints pertaining to paper machines;

6. when designated by the manager, assume specific duties and responsibilities;

7. be responsible of the optimized operation of the paper machine; and

8. Assist in the organizing and planning of paper machine shutdowns and maintenance activities.

Salary scale $110,000 to $130,000
