The location in Port Alberni, BC, is seeking talent to fill the position of Shift Supervisor.
This job is permanent and full-time.
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Responsible for continuous operation of the production equipment within the facility.
- Proactive safety leader to ensure the safety of all employees and contractors on site.
- Strong leader that supports the goals of the Port Alberni Division.
- Actively engage workforce to achieve results.
- Represents Domtar with honesty and integrity in all matters, including our safety policy and PPE compliance.
- Assigning and reviewing and planning work for crews and maintenance support.
- Resolving union grievances at the first level.
- Manage crew and individual performance and implement plans to continually improve performance.
- Utilize both positive reinforcements as well as disciplinary action to manage performance.
- Manage training for the hourly team.
- Administer the collective agreement

Required Professional Experience/Qualifications:
- 5+ years of practical experience in a continuous operation.
Salary rate: $102,000 to $115,000 per annum (actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience, and internal parity).
