The location in Phoenix, (Arizona, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Maintenance Supervisor. This job is full-time permanent.
Oversees the maintenance team, ensuring facilities and equipment operate efficiently, safely, and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
A Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing all aspects of facility and equipment upkeep. Core duties include:
- Supervising and leading maintenance staff, including hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning tasks to ensure timely completion of work.
- Planning and scheduling maintenance activities, including preventive, corrective, and emergency repairs to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency
- Inspecting facilities and equipment to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and coordinate repairs or upgrades
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and codes, maintaining a safe work environment for staff and occupants
- Managing budgets and resources, including ordering and tracking maintenance supplies, equipment, and contractor services
- Coordinating with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or installations
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections

Required Skills and Qualifications
Successful Maintenance Supervisors typically possess a combination of technical, leadership, and administrative skills:
- Technical expertise in areas such as plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to quickly identify and resolve maintenance issues
- Leadership and team management abilities to guide and motivate maintenance staff effectively
- Organizational skills for scheduling, prioritizing tasks, and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Communication skills to liaise with staff, management, and external contractors
- Administrative capabilities, including budgeting, reporting, and inventory management
Education and Experience
- Formal education is not always required, but vocational certificates, technical training, or degrees in facility management, engineering, or related fields are advantageous
- Relevant experience in maintenance, facilities management, or skilled trades is highly valued, often including prior roles such as Maintenance Technician, Facilities Coordinator, or Lead Hand
- Certifications from professional organizations, such as the Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) or the American Public Works Association (APWA), can enhance qualifications
Work Environment
Maintenance Supervisors operate in diverse settings, including office environments, industrial facilities, residential complexes, and healthcare or specialized buildings. The role often requires on-site presence to oversee maintenance operations, conduct inspections, and respond to emergencies
Summary
A Maintenance Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring that facilities and equipment remain functional, safe, and efficient.
