The location in Nekoosa, (Wisconsin, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Assistant Mill Controller. This job is full-time permanent.
Assistant Mill Controller
Description:
The Assistant Controller will assist the Mill Controller with the management of the Accounting and Purchasing operations of the Nekoosa site. This position requires the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial and operational data, lead efforts to identify cost reduction opportunities and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for the Nekoosa Mill.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and participate in month-end close process by maintaining month end closing checklist, preparing financial entries and account reconciliations as well as variance analysis, and other various tasks required to ensure a timely and accurate month end close.
- Partner with department leaders to provide financial data and strong business process support to help drive continuous improvement, capital project justifications, cost savings initiatives and other business needs.
- Lead annual budget and quarterly forecasting process for areas supported, including fixed spending review, sales & production forecasting, labor, energy, raw materials, etc.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and analysis.
- Support and assist in internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules, annual government reporting.
- Complete various ad hoc analysis as requested by business areas supported or Mill Controller to help drive financial results.
- Identify and drive process improvements, including development of standard and ad hoc reports and tools.
- Proactively identify manufacturing cost trends that impact the business and financial results.
- Ensure adequate internal control framework is in place in business areas supported.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- 7-10 years of experience in finance or accounting with a minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience.
- Previous supervisory/management experience.
- CMA Certification or MBA preferred.
- Above average ERP (SAP preferred) experience as well as strong Excel skills.
