Analyst, Commercial Logistics

The location in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, is seeking talent to fill the position of Analyst, Commercial Logistics. This job is full-time permanent.

Your challenges:

You will act as the go-to expert for tools, data, and analysis within the commercial logistics team. In this capacity, you will:

 

  • Support specialists and the logistics manager in producing cost-benefit analysis
  • Actively participate in identifying and implementing logistics chain optimization initiatives
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and integrity of logistics data used in commercial decisions
  • Play a key role in transformation and improvement projects related to systems and analytical tools

 

More specifically, your focus will include the following:

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce and automate cost-benefit analyses to support commercial decisions (transportation, routing, contracts)
  • Support logistics specialists in negotiations by providing reliable data and comparative scenarios
  • Structure data to improve the speed and quality of decision-making
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and availability across systems (ERP, analytical files)
  • Implement and maintain data quality controls
  • Be responsible for managing transportation rates and updating them in the relevant tools
  • Review, standardize, and continuously improve analytical files and tools (Excel, Power BI, databases)
  • Automate manual processes to improve operational efficiency
  • Reduce risks related to errors and improve data traceability
  • Lead or contribute to projects aimed at improving systems and analytical processes (3–5 month horizon)
  • Act as a liaison between business teams and IT teams
  • Identify and propose logistics chain optimization initiatives (costs, lead times, routing)

Reporting to the Commercial Logistics Manager, you will join a results-driven team where innovation, analytical rigor, and continuous improvement are highly valued.

 

Your profile:

  • University degree in computer science, analytics, information systems, logistics, or a related field
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in data analysis, tool development, or systems improvement
  • Good understanding of logistics operations (rail, truck, or marine transportation is a strong asset)
  • Experience with ERP systems and analytical tools (advanced Excel, Power BI, SQL or equivalent)
  • Strong interest in process optimization and automation
