Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Industrial, with expertise in the tissue paper industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment, ensuring a smooth and efficient production process.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance & Repair:

  • Diagnose and rectify electrical faults in the production machinery, control systems, and other electrical equipment.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring optimum machinery uptime.
  • Collaborate with the mechanical and instrumentation maintenance team to ensure synchronized efforts in     troubleshooting multifaceted issues.

Safety:

  • Ensure that all electrical repairs and installations comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections to detect potential electrical hazards and rectify them immediately.
  • Train other team members on electrical safety procedures and best practices.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Recommend improvements to existing electrical systems for better efficiency and safety.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in the tissue paper industry and leverage them for the betterment of the company.
  • Participate in projects aimed at enhancing machine performance and energy conservation.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and downtime.
  • Monitor the usage and inventory of electrical spare parts and tools.
  • Report findings, challenges, and results to the Maintenance Manager and collaborate in implementing corrective actions.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the production team to minimize unplanned downtimes and enhance the efficiency of machinery.
  • Engage with external vendors and suppliers when necessary.

 

Qualifications:

  • Technical degree or certification in Electrical, Electrical Maintenance, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Electrical Industrial, preferably in the tissue paper industry.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, PLCs, drives, sensors, and control circuits.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Proficient with tools and diagnostic equipment relevant to the role.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift equipment and parts weighing up 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
  • Employees will work a 12-hour rotating shift.

 

Tissue is a business unit of Domtar. As one of the few fully integrated tissue manufacturers in North America, we have a well-established presence in retail and away-from-home tissue manufacturing and are ideally suited to serve U.S. customers. We own and operate three manufacturing mills, in Sanford and Hialeah, Florida, and Calhoun, Tennessee, as well as a converting facility in Hagerstown, Maryland.

 

With seven converting lines and two paper machine production lines –for paper towels and bath tissue – the Hialeah Mill is a 24/7 operation.
