We own and operate three manufacturing mills, in Sanford and Hialeah, Florida, and Calhoun, Tennessee, as well as a converting facility in Hagerstown, Maryland.
With seven converting lines and two paper machine production lines –for paper towels and bath tissue – the Hialeah Mill is a 24/7 operation and is seeking talent to fill the position of Electrical Maintenance Supervisor.
Position Summary:
The Industrial Maintenance Electrician Supervisor is responsible for leading the electrical maintenance team in the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of electrical systems in a tissue paper manufacturing facility. This position will be responsible for all mill electrical items. This role ensures all electrical work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. The supervisor plays a key role in improving equipment reliability, supporting production, and mentoring a team of electricians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and support a team of industrial electricians to ensure safe and effective work practices.
- Prioritize and assign daily electrical maintenance tasks based on operational needs and emergency breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot, inspect, and oversee repairs of electrical systems, including motors, drives, PLCs, VFDs, and control panels.
- Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and internal safety policies.
- Coordinate electrical maintenance activities with production, engineering, and other departments to minimize downtime.
- Manage and maintain accurate records of work orders, PMs, repairs, parts usage, and labor hours.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for reliability, efficiency, and safety.
- Assist in project planning for upgrades, equipment installation, and plant expansions.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of equipment and electrical infrastructure.
- Provide hands-on assistance during major breakdowns or complex repairs.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED; technical training or associate degree in electrical or industrial maintenance preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing environment, including 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Extensive knowledge of 3-phase power systems, control circuits, PLC’s, VFDs, and industrial automation.
- Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC’s
- DCS control system i.e. Delta V or other
- 480V switch gear, MCC’s
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of safety standards including OSHA, NEC, and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish (oral and written).
Preferred:
- Experience in the pulp and paper or tissue manufacturing industry.
- Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning software.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment including climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and exposure to heat, noise, and dust.
- Must be available for emergencies and rotating on-call responsibilities.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time, primarily day shift, with flexibility to respond to off-hours equipment issues or emergencies.
