The location in Hawesville, (Kentucky, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Mechanical Entry Level Engineer. This job is full-time permanent.

Mechanical Entry Level Engineer

The Domtar-Hawesville Mill is seeking a Mechanical Entry Level Engineer.  This full-time exempt salaried position will report to a Superintendent in the Maintenance Department.

The Mechanical Entry Level Engineer work experience focuses on accelerated exposure to the pulp and paper manufacturing facility and processes through rotation in the major process areas for the first 18 months of work. Responsibilities include: (1) problem solving; (2) cost reduction; (3) project planning and execution; (4) optimization of processes; (5) optimization of cost and energy reduction. Orientation in the process support departments (environmental/technical, engineering, maintenance, human resources, etc.) will also be included during the first few months. 

QUALIFICATIONS

-  BS in Mechanical Engineering, with focus on Reliability desirable

- Three (3) months’ experience as a co-op or intern in an industrial location; with extended period as co-op or intern in heavy industrial location desired

- A personal dedication to safety, including proactive support of efforts to create a culture of safety excellence

- Possess good communication skills (written and verbal)

- Possess the ability to achieve results through others

- Have thorough knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.    

- Minimum GPA of 2.80; with GPA of 3.0 desired

- Must be willing & able to meet the demands of a 24/7 heavy industrial operation

- Able & willing to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)

- This position will be exposed to dust, fumes, chemicals, extremes of heat/cold, climbing, and heights
