The location in Fort Mill, (South Carolina, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Regional Manager, Health and Safety, US. This job is full-time permanent.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Health & Safety, the US Regional Manager will act as the primary safety and health resource for two sawmills, while also supporting one distribution center and seven pulp and tissue mills across the US. This role drives strategic safety initiatives grounded in caring, accountability, collaboration and entrepreneurship. By fostering a proactive safety culture and providing expert guidance on regulatory compliance through site visits, inspections and audits, this role ensures continuous improvement and world-class health and safety performance across all locations.
Your challenges:
• Serving as the primary safety and health resource for 2 sawmills and providing support 1 distribution center and 7 pulp and tissue mills, fostering a service-oriented approach built on caring, accountability, collaboration and entrepreneurship.
• Developing and implementing strategic safety initiatives with a focus on short and long-term planning to drive world-class performance.
• Providing coaching and guidance to site leaders, managers, and staff on safety and health best practices.
• Supporting internal governance functions by ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Applying strong technical expertise in heavy manufacturing safety, health and OSHA regulations, including machine guarding, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, mobile equipment, etc.
• Conducting and supporting site safety initiatives, inspections and audits and incident follow-ups to ensure continuous improvement.
• Monitoring regulatory updates and industry advancements to assess and implement necessary operational changes.
• Supporting development of corporate-wide safety training materials and delivering engaging education sessions.
• Leading or assisting with incident investigations, causal analysis, and development of systemic corrective actions.
• Managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong organizational skills, adaptability, and the ability to prioritize effectively.
• Leading or participating in special internal projects
• Tracking and analyzing safety performance metrics, leveraging data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Facilitating communication and best practice sharing across all sites to strengthen the safety culture.
• Championing a culture of safety by inspiring employees at all levels to maintain an uncompromising commitment to health and safety.
• Collaborating with the Sr. Director of Health & Safety and corporate safety team members to develop and execute companywide strategies.
• Building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels, including management, frontline workers, government agencies, customers, and visitors.
Your skills:
• Willingness to travel up to 30% to support multiple operating locations.
• Proven ability to analyze and interpret data, synthesize key insights, report findings, and provide actionable recommendations.

• High ethical standards and integrity, serving as a role model for safety and compliance.
Your profile:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; advanced education is a plus.
• Minimum or 10+ years of proactive safety management experience in manufacturing, with a preference for experience in the paper or packaging industry.
• Comprehensive knowledge of general industry safety regulations (29 CFR 1910) and their application in manufacturing environments.
• Experience managing safety across multiple sites, ensuring consistency and best practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver impactful training. French language skills are a plus.
• Excellent skills in group facilitation or presentation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
• Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or equivalent are desirable.
