The location in Cross City, (Florida, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Sawmill Maintenance Clerk. This job is full-time permanent.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Maintenance Clerk to support our sawmill’s maintenance department. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate records, coordinating parts and supplies, tracking work orders, and assisting the maintenance team in ensuring smooth mill operations. The ideal candidate will be skilled in clerical and administrative tasks while understanding the urgency and pace of an industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports.
- Process and track work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and service requests.
- Monitor inventory levels of parts, tools, and supplies; initiate reorders when needed.
- Assist in coordinating vendor orders, deliveries, and service contracts.
- Support maintenance supervisors and millwrights with documentation, parts tracking, and gathering parts for each job (kitting).
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports.
- Provide clerical support such as filing, data entry, and document control.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education in business administration or industrial maintenance is an asset).
- Minimum 1–2 years of clerical, administrative, or inventory control experience (industrial or manufacturing environment preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced sawmill environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff.
Work Environment:
- Office-based role within a sawmill facility.
- Regular interaction with maintenance, production, and supply chain personnel.
- Exposure to an industrial environment; must adhere to safety standards and PPE requirements.
