The location in Crofton, British Columbia, Canada, is seeking talent to fill the position of Entry Level Labourer. This job is full-time permanent.

Position Summary

The Entry Level Labourer provides physically demanding support across all areas of Domtar’s Crofton Mill, ensuring safe and efficient mill operations through vacation and training relief coverage. The role involves operating mobile equipment, performing manual tasks in hot and noisy environments, and working rotating day and night shifts. It requires physical stamina, computer literacy, strong visual awareness, and a commitment to safety. Hourly rate for this position is $34.630.

Successful candidates will be required to:

  • Provide physically demanding labouring work in all areas of the mill, providing vacation and training relief
  • Work a shift rotation (days and nights)
  • Duties and job requirements will include but are not restricted to:
    • operating mobile equipment for extended periods
    • being on your feet for extended periods
    • working in hot and noisy conditions
    • having good visual perception
    • being computer literate

 To qualify you must:

  • A copy of your Grade 12 transcripts from High School
  • Possess a valid Canadian driver’s license
  • Have a demonstrated a capacity to learn
  • possess a history of safe work performance

Please note, preference will be given to those with relevant industrial experience. 

 

This is a bargaining unit position. Employment, benefits and pension are in the Collective Agreement that has been negotiated by Domtar and the Public & Private Workers of Canada (PPWC), Local 2.
