The location in Calhoun, TN, is seeking talent to fill the position of Manager, Engineering & Maintenance. This job is salaried exempt.

Primary Purpose
To manage, direct and support the maintenance facilities across the site, with a focus on changing the culture to embrace Best Maintenance Practices. This position will promote Root Cause Problem Solving to increase equipment reliability.
Duties and Responsibilities
§ Provide strategic leadership in the areas of equipment, safety, people, and cost effectiveness
- Manage and direct supervisory personnel
- Lead departmental personnel to take responsibility and accountability for safety, cost control, and reliability
- Lead focus on Reliability Engineering and PPM
- Involved in compliance oversight with the Maintenance Department, including local, state, federal, and insurance requirements
- Track KPIs to improve maintenance efficiency and equipment reliability
- Ensure the principles of Reliability and Best Maintenance Practices are advanced on a daily basis
- Assist with implementation and design of the maintenance management information system
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering (or equivalent education or experience)
- Management training or experience to lead a service department in a matrix management environment
- Strong interpersonal skills; outstanding leadership and strategic thinking skills
- Highly self-motivated and able to prioritize
- Excellent computer skills and a functional ability with computerized information systems (Project, Word, Excel, MMIS, e.g., EMPAC or SAP, etc.)
- Ability to develop long and short term strategic improvement plans
- Ability to work closely with operations partners
- Ability to develop a Team environment of hourly and salary employees
- Capacity to “absorb” probing questions and constructively deal with open conflict.
