The location in Brownsville, (Tennessee, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Production Tech. This job is full-time permanent.

Statement of Role:

Reporting to the crew leader, packaging line technician maintains the packaging line and works closely with the sheeter operator and crew leader to ensure production is safe, efficient, and performed at the lowest possible cost. The production environment is climate controlled. Production shifts are 12 hour shifts, operating 7-7 on a 2-2-3 schedule, rotating from days to nights every 4 weeks. 

Routine Primary Daily Tasks:

1. Ensure that all housekeeping problems made on your shift are cleaned up.
2. Mop or sweep around the packaging equipment as necessary to maintain a clean and safe operation.
3. Fill glue bins daily.
4. Dump trash and trash bins.
5. Blow out each piece of equipment Daily (you will be allowed 20min) this is to be preformed at 5 o’clock each day.
6. Make and remove Corrugated bail if needed.
7. Have the next set-up ready for the next shift.
8. Perform Extra housekeeping tasks as directed by the crew leader.
9. Work as a member of a team under team concept (to include the large plant team as well as shift teams).
10. Know and abide by all general plant rules, policies and procedures.
11. Properly train other employees at your classification.

Quality:

1. Perform all assigned quality control duties (forms are in Poka) and assist other crew members in monitoring quality.

2. Ensure materials that may contaminate scrap paper are disposed of properly.

3. Understand all quality control specifications.

4. Never knowingly ship any defective product.

5. Maintain good housekeeping in package area, keeping aisles and floors free of materials and equipment clean.

Production:

1. Troubleshoot problems immediately and implement correction action. Notify your crew leader if electrical or mechanical help is required to minimize downtime.

2. Assist the sheeter operator with operations, such as clearing sheeter jams, starting sheeter up, and collecting school grade.

3. Control and reduce lost time on package line.

4. Control cost.

5. Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled.

6. Always leave relief in good operating condition.

7. Give proper relief as designated by the crew leader in areas you are qualified. Maintain area while in relief.

8. Keep lid and body hoppers full.

9. Keep case labeler glue system clean.

10. Keep glue systems full and clean. Keep glue covered.

11. Ensure ream wrap supplies are adequate.

12. Ensure operating supplies are returned to storage after product changes (i.e. labels).

13. Make adjustments to equipment as necessary to maintain a quality product.

14. Check product each hour to ensure quality.
