The location in Bennettsville, (South Carolina, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Mechanical Project Engineer. This job is full-time permanent.

 

Reporting to the Manager of the Manufacturing Services Department (MSD), the Mechanical Project Engineer is responsible for leading and executing projects that support process improvements, product upgrades, and cost savings initiatives at the site level. Success in this role requires a strong foundation in engineering principles, effective project management skills, and the ability to collaborate and influence across multiple departments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide mechanical engineering expertise to support production departments across the Mill
  • Develop, coordinate, and manage capital and maintenance projects, ensuring alignment with Mill priorities
  • Apply project management best practices including detailed planning, scheduling, execution, and cost control
  • Support the Mill during outages and upset conditions, providing timely and effective engineering solutions
  • Participate in and support ongoing continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • At least five (5) years of hands-on experience with mechanical project installation and execution
  • Proven track record of promoting and practicing safe work behaviors
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient with computer applications and project planning tools
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on results

  • Knowledge of the Front-End Loading (FEL) process for capital project development is a plus
