Description

 

The Project Executive - Construction - Senior AdvisorGlobal Pulp Technology will be part of the investment committee, oversees the overall capital allocation of the PE Group’s Pulp related business, and approves all key investments. She/he will evaluate projects and make recommendations with respect to reducing overall project expense by utilizing alternative designs or technologies; cost competitive country procurement strategies; cost reduction options utilizing internal designs; and evaluating project assumptions and financials.

 

 Main Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and influence in shaping standards for Cap Ex optimization efforts by establishing objectives, strategies, and advocating cutting edge technologies, fit for purpose designs and low cost sourcing.
  • Evaluate all Cap Ex proposals; validate assumptions, assess design elements and proposed costs: validate estimated returns and recommend opportunities to reduce overall project costs.
  • Partner with BUs in the following tasks:
    • Build Cap Ex investment strategy that aligns with overall business strategy to help the company grow: by repurposing assets, finding opportunity in greenfield projects, and even M&A
    • Help to formulize Cap Ex allocation based on value creation potential.
    • Provide out of box solution to lower down overall Cap Ex while maintaining optimal performance standard
    • Help to connect and communicate with key suppliers, including the ones from low cost countries
    • Regularly monitor the progress of Cap Ex implementation
    • Help to make sure the project will run smooth during the start-up period
  • Oversee the progress of Cap Ex projects and provide periodic reports to the Management Board and Founder.
  • Evaluate opportunities for in-house designs of non-critical components to reduce project costs.
  • Reduce Cap Ex investments by sourcing from cost competitive countries like Japan, Brazil, Taiwan.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual Cap Ex plan based on expertise around machinery improvements/optimizations.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the work of regions, divisions or departments
  • Establish objectives for the organization and formulate or approve policies and programs
  • Ability to supervise: 3 - 4 people

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor and above degree in Paper Science Engineering, Mechanical, Chemical is preferred.
  • Minimum five years specialized knowledge of Pulp & Paper manufacturing equipment and processes is required.
  • Minimum five year management experience in pulp and paper global technology, production and operation.
  • An innovative and forward-thinking leader.
  • Ability to effectively lead change and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Highly motivated and result oriented.
  • Proven track record of Cap Ex project management, turn-around, vendor management.
  • Can effectively identify and evaluate technical and non-technical opportunities for improvement and translate them to financial terms that provides a business case and supports investment.
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and improve existing processes/programs.
  • Official Languages: English

Salary Range: $150,000-$210,00
