Machine Operator

The location in Port Mellon, (British Columbia, Canada), is seeking talent to fill the position of Machine Operator. This job is full-time permanent.

Education and Experience:

» While formal education isn’t always required, having a high school diploma or equivalent is beneficial.

» Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a wheel loader.

Skills and Abilities:

» Ability to operate heavy equipment such as 980, Wagner, and other log loaders.

» Knowledge of different log species and forms to store them properly.

» Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

» Ability to adhere to all safety policies and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.

Certifications and Licenses:

» Valid driver’s license is highly preferred.

» Valid first aid level 3 certificate or willingness to be put through the course will be given priority in hiring process. 

Additional Requirements:

» Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends, and overtime as needed.

» Completion of pre-employment screening processes, reference check, prior work verification.

» Ability to make it to and from work on a daily basis

Responsibilities:

» Unload trucks, spread logs, feed mill, sort logs by paint mark, load logs on bundle racks.

» Conduct required pre-operating checks on equipment prior to use.

» Always maintain a clean work area.

» Cross-train in other areas as required.
