The location in Montreal, (Quebec, Canada), is seeking talent to fill the position of Senior Basis Lead. This job is full-time permanent.

Overview: Reporting to the Manager, SAP Technology, the Senior Basis Lead will be responsible for the administration and support of both on-premise and cloud SAP environments. The role involves ensuring the maintenance, updates, and security of SAP applications, while defining and implementing operational standards and processes. The incumbent will coordinate SAP Basis activities, mentor more junior team members, and act as a liaison between application partners, customers, and the infrastructure team to ensure the smooth execution of both operational and project-related tasks. Additionally, the incumbent will oversee and coordinate the work of managed service providers, including those involved with private cloud and SAP RISE services.

Your challenges:

• Manage SAP Environments: Administer SAP systems and integrated third-party tools, ensuring optimal performance, integrity, and security across all environments.
• Lead Technical Activities: Oversee system installation, migrations, performance tuning, and issue resolution, while providing SME support for technical problems.
• Provide Operational Support: Collaborate with Applications and Infrastructure teams to monitor, identify, and resolve system issues, enhancing overall system stability.
• On-Call Rotation: Participate in the On-Call rotation to troubleshoot and resolve system issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Patching and Updates: Own the SAP patching program, ensuring timely system updates in line with established plans.
• Coordinate Managed Service Providers: Manage and coordinate the operational activities of managed service providers (including SAP RISE), ensuring consistent performance, security, and compliance with established standards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between SAP Functional Analysts, IT teams (Unix, DBA, Storage, Telecom, Compliance), and Managed Service Providers to ensure smooth coordination and communication.
• Project Leadership:Take a leadership role in the implementation, rollout, and/or upgrade of SAP and related systems. Be accountable for the successful execution of the solution and its transition to regular operations. Drive the evaluation of options, risks, resource requirements, and impacts on business processes and system priorities.
• Compliance and Auditing: Ensure adherence to ITGC and SOX controls, participating in internal and external audits.
• Effective Communication: Keep management, team members, and other team leads informed of progress, challenges, and issues related to SAP environments and projects, ensuring alignment and transparency across all levels.

Your skills:

• 10-15 years of General SAP BASIS Administration experience and Solution Manager experience (Java and ABAP)
• SAP ECC, BW, APO, S/4 HANA, Solution Manager, Cloud ALM, Cloud Connector, BTP administration
• Proficient analytical skills in all areas related to SAP Products and system software
• Experience coordinating Managed services in private cloud and SAP RISE scenarios
• Experience in SAP S/4 HANA implementations is a plus

Your profile:

• SAP Basis Administration Experience with SAP ECC,BW and APO and Solution manager is a must.

• Install and maintain SAP software including upgrades and database (HANA) administration; apply kernel patches, OSS and Security Notes, and Support Packages.
• Participation in Disaster Recovery plans, procedures and test scenarios and provide oversight and signoffs in regular DR rehearsals
• Strong technical skills in SAP Installations, Troubleshooting, Upgrades, System copy, SAP performance tuning, Applying Patches, Backup and Restore activities, analysis of both ABAP and Java Stacks on Linux and Oracle/HANA databases. This includes diagnostic maintenance and capacity planning

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and lead cross-functional teams effectively
• French is a nice-to-have
