The location in Montreal, (Quebec, Canada), is seeking talent to fill the position of IT Manager - Applications. This job is full-time permanent.
Job Summary: Domtar is seeking an experienced IT Application Manager to oversee its Wood Products application portfolio, which covers areas such as Geomatics, Forestry, Production, and Sales. Reporting to the IT Director, the Applications Manager will plan, coordinate, and manage the work of the applications team to ensure the live solution performs as expected and continuously evolves to meet business needs. You will work in collaboration with business stakeholders, local IT representatives, system analysts, corporate architects, and infrastructure teams.
Your challenges:
- Manage and motivate internal team members. Be responsible for supporting their professional growth and development.
- Collaborate with Business stakeholders to understand business challenges/opportunities and propose IT solutions to address them.
- Manage the prioritization and execution of application work across the portfolio in collaboration with business users.
- Perform resource capacity planning, oversee deliverables and communicate progress to business stakeholders regularly.
- Define and drive the application roadmap and ensure solutions remain up-to-date and supported.
- Collaborate with various IT groups such as Architecture, Infrastructure, Security to ensure solutions are aligned with the overall IT strategy.
- Manage and optimize the working relationship with 3rd party vendors.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and accruals for work performed by 3rd party vendors.
- Manage and optimize operational governance to perform, Incident, Change Request and Problem management, according to ITIL standards.
- Oversee the quality of work performed by internal resources and 3rd party vendors. Ensure deadlines and commitments are met.
- Ensure work performed is executed according to SoX and relevant ITGC controls.
- Be seen as a leader and innovator in this IT space. Develop a deep understanding of industry experience in order to influence and guide business stakeholders.
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/ business administration or related discipline.
- More than 5 years in a similar position or equivalent managerial experience.
- Demonstrated career progression with a proven track record in a similar role.
Your skills:
- Excellent communication skills (English, French) and ability to effectively express technical concepts.
- Proven experience in people management and leadership ability.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced team environment.
- In-depth knowledge of the wood products industry, including production processes, supply chain management, and market trends is considered an asset.
- Experience with industry-specific software and applications used in wood products planning, manufacturing and distribution is considered an asset.
