The location in Bennettsville, (South Carolina, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader. This job is full-time permanent.
The Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader reports to the Final Products Reliability Lead and has responsibility for the mechanical maintenance activities within the Final Products Department which consists of both Paper and Finishing areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, mentor and train the Final Products mechanical day team
- Be an advocate for and an active member of the Final Products management team.
- Support all mechanical maintenance activities of the Final Products area. This would include Domtar activities as well as contracted activities
- Review daily tasks and ensure that we are safely meeting our goals
- Review work orders and help to prioritize weekly planning and scheduling. Participate in the weekly planning and scheduling process for maintenance work
- Be a self-starter with strong focus on continuous improvement and problem resolutions
- Work with department leadership to plan scheduled outages and react to unscheduled events
- Participate in selection of contractors and monitoring of spend against budget
- Coordinate / manage contracted maintenance jobs both during normal operations and during outages
- Assist in monitoring and controlling day to day maintenance spending against budget
- Help facilitate good communications between the rotating shift teams, day maintenance team, contract maintenance teams and day staff
- Participate in troubleshooting efforts such as Root Cause Failure Analysis
- Take calls for mechanical issues in Final Products during off time as needed
- Participate in Mill-wide mechanical call duties
Required Qualifications / Experience
- Minimum five (5) years’ Marlboro Mill mechanical experience or 10 years mechanical experience in a team-based work environment.
- Safety and team-oriented with a good work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Experience with SAP, Excel, Kronos, Word, and Microsoft Projects preferred
