The location in Bennettsville, (South Carolina, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Day Maintenance Team Leader, MSD. This job is full-time permanent.

 

Job Summary

This Team Leader position reports to the Manufacturing Services Department (MSD) Manager and manages the MSD Maintenance Day Team.  Primary duties of this position are to lead, develop, mentor and train the Mechanical and Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Mill Technicians in the MSD Maintenance Day Team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Helps develop maintenance budgets and monitors maintenance spending against budgets
  • Oversees work order systems and planning processes to ensure that work is entered, prioritized, planned, scheduled, completed, closed, and documented
  • Reviews and schedules planned work for the day team
  • Initiates and oversees troubleshooting efforts, such as Root Cause Failure Analysis
  • Supports the preventative/predictive maintenance programs (i.e Vibration Analysis programs, Lubrications, BCCM, Tank Integrity, etc.)
  • Participates in shutdown planning, work prioritization, and execution
  • Participates in safety and housekeeping audits
  • Completes and conducts training/selection evaluations and annual reviews according to Work System Guidelines
  • Participates in technical reviews of Mill Technician training
  • Ensures compliance with all Mill and Company policies and procedures as well as governmental directives and laws
  • Conducts and applies behavior modification standards as necessary
  • Involved in the mill reliability efforts
  • Support the mill when upset conditions occur or when extra skills are needed
  • Willingness to collaborate with other areas of the mill to resolve issues
  • Maintains a high level of Precision Maintenance and Reliability

 

Required Qualifications / Experience

  • Minimum five (5) years of mechanical maintenance experience in the Pulp and Paper industry; or minimum of three (3) years maintenance experience in Pulp and Paper industry plus a technical degree; or 10 years of experience leading in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent safety record with a history of being proactive in safety efforts
  • Strong leadership qualities and good interactive people skills
  • Strong knowledge and support of the Work System with demonstrated leadership skills, such as committee involvement, special projects, and community organizations
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Proficient planning, organization, and time-management skills
  • Results-focused and detail-oriented
  • Ability to lead and manage in a professional manner

 

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Experience with SAP, DMSI (MAINtelligence), Kronos time entry, and SKF Vibration Analysis software is desirable
  • Reliability training is desirable
